Albany, CA (February 12, 2022) – Tamara Mine, who was second in her only start at two, earned her maiden special weight diploma first time out at three with a handy score in the 6th race at Golden Gate Fields.
Eleven fillies lined-up for the five and one-half furlong dash over the all weather. Breaking alertly from post four, the daughter of Tamarando quickly engaged in a battle for the lead. Her head was in front going into the turn and the lead was clearly hers at the top of the stretch. She drew away strongly in the final furlong to win by two and one-half lengths.
Tamara Mine is a second generation homebred for Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams. She is out of the stakes winning Benchmark mare, Marks Mine. She is trained by Steven Specht.
