Stanford Mare Three-for-Four in 2025

Grand Prairie, TX (May 2, 2025) – Flame McGoon is proving that just like fine wine, she continues to improve with age. The 6-year-old daughter of Stanford made her Lone Star Park debut and came away with her third victory in four starts this season in the 2nd race a one mile allowance over the muddy track.

Originally schedule for the turf, the surface change was no issue. Settling in for the first five furlongs, Flame McGoon galloped around the field around the far turn, took over at the top of the stretch and proved best by more than three lengths.

Bred by Branch Thoroughbred, she was produced by the More Than Ready mare, Lula Tallulah. Trained by Roberto Diodoro, she races for Clayton Wiest, Rick Wiest, and Lana Wiest.
