Acclamation Son Remains Undefeated on Turf

Del Mar, CA (September 3, 2022) – Acclamation earned the Del Mar bragging rights today at Harris Farms, as his 4-year-old son Kings River Knight remained undefeated on turf and two-for-three lifetime with his victory in the 2nd race, a mile and one-sixteenth allowance over the Jimmy Durante course.

A full field of twelve went into the gate after the winner’s share of the $85,500 purse. Kings River Knight, who went wire-to-wire for his maiden win, but today, he showed a new dimension rating a few lengths off the lead. Saving ground, jockey Flavien Prat moved him off the rail with a half-mile to run. Asked going into the far turn, he picked up on horse after another and he too the lead at the top of the stretch. He opened up a clear lead and had plenty left to hold the closers safe to win by three-quarters of a length. His final time 1as 1:41.73.

Bred by Old English Rancho, he races for The Elwood Johnston Trust and Ken Tevelde. Trained by Andy Mathis, he is out of the Poteen mare, Seasontoperfection.
