Arcadia, CA (April 30, 2022) – Standing O earned his aptly named accolade from the faithful who backed the 4-year-old son of Acclamation in a gritty, winning effort in the $71,500 allowance carded as the 7th race at Santa Anita.
A field of eleven lined-up for the grassy one mile contest. Standing O sat a great trip after a little bumping around the first turn under jockey Ricardo Gonzalez. Galloping along in fifth, with clear running to the outside, he improved his position around the final turn. Asked to run as the field straightened away at the top of the stretch, he ralled to gain the lead inside the final sixteenth. He dug in as the wire and a latecomer came calling to win by a head.
Standing O is a homebred racing for Ali Nilforushan and he is trained by Phil D’Amato. He was produced by Dixie Chatter mare, Dixie Dame.
