Arcadia, CA (May 29, 2021) – Scary Fast Smile, the 4-year-old son of Smiling Tiger, has been nothing short of scary good in his last two starts. Last time out, he scored by an official seven and three-quarter lengths. Today in the 6th race at Santa Anita, he rounded up that margin to eight lengths in the six furlong, main track allowance with a purse of $64,500.
He was not first out of the gate from the inside post, but he got into stride quickly and maintained his rail position. He led by a half-length after the opening quarter and a length a half-mile in. Roused at the top of the stretch by jockey Tyler Baze, he opened up with every stride and cruised in much the best.
Scary Fast Smile is a third generation Harris Farms-bred. Produced by the winning Congaree mare, Scare Fast, he has hit the board in all seven of his career starts and earned $118,840 for the partnership of William Branch, William Buster, Jr., and Mark Cohen. He is trained by Mark Glatt.
