Harris Homebred Glorious Spring Wins Santa Anita Allowance
Arcadia, CA (March 27, 2023) – Just a week to the day after the Vernal Equinox, Harris Farms’ homebred Glorious Spring blew in on the seasonal wind to take her place in the winner’s circle after the 5th race at Santa Anita Park going one mile over the fast main track.
Off slowly from her inside post in the $72,000 affair, the 4-year-old filly and jockey Juan Hernandez galloped along behind the field without losing touch. Roused going into the far turn, she responded, but there was no ground saving path ahead and they team was forced into the wideest trip into the stretch. Straightening out from the five path, she caught the leaders passing the eighth pole and the race was over. She cruised in best by nearly three lengths.
Trained by Dan Blacker, Glorious Spring is by Grazen and was produced by the winning Candy Ride (ARG) mare, Maziette. She has won or placed in five of her seven career starts and she has earned $116,420. Here are photos of her as a foal and in January at the farm.
