Kristi’s Tiger Goes Over $300,000 in Earnings
Arcadia, CA (March 26, 2023) – Kristi’s Tiger took her lifetime bankroll over $300,000 and chalked up her sixth career victory in the 8th race at Santa Anita, an $87,688 allowance going six furlongs over the fast main track.
The daughter of Smiling Tiger sat the rail trip down the backstretch as a lone pacesetter was winging it out front. Moving to challenge around the turn, she closed the gap and moved swiftly to and by the leader. She continued her powerful run through the stretch to pull away as much the best to win by more than four lengths.
Bred by Premier Thoroughbreds LLC and Alan Klein, she races for the partnership of Mia Familia Racing Stable and Rockingham Ranch. She has won or placed in 15 of her 28 starts and she has earned $339,876. Trained by Librado Barocio, she was produced by the Indian Charlie mare, Lottawampum.
Smiling Tiger’s second allowance winning daughter on the day was 3-year-old Smiling Lady, who made her third career visit to the winner’s circle after taking the field wire-to-wire in the 5th race at Golden Gate Fields going one mile over the all weather.
Smiling Lady rated kindly and opened up through the stretch to win by more than three lengths for owner Phillip Lebherz and trainer Andy Mathis. Also bred by Premier Thoroughbreds LLC, she is out of the 10-time winning Pleasantly Perfect mare, Banner Elk Lady. Foaled at Harris Farms, here is her baby picture
