Harris Homebred Closing Remarks California-bred Champion Turf Horse and Older Female

Arcadia, CA (February 14, 2024) – Harris Farms’ homebred Closing Remarks was named the 2023 Champion California-bred Older Female and Champion Turf Horse. She was previously named Champion California-bred Three-Year-Old Female in 2021. Closing Remarks joins The Chosen Vron as a 2023 two-division champion sired by Vronsky.

Closing Remarks had a remarkable campaign by anyone’s standards in 2023. She started ten times, all in graded stakes, and came home on top in the Royal Heroine S., Yellow Ribbon S., John C. Mabee S., and the Goldikova, all at the Grade 2 level. She added two additional graded stakes-placings and earned $601,000.

Trained by Carla Gaines, Closing Remarks has won or placed in sixteen of her twenty-six career starts and she has earned $1,000,320. She was produced by the Unusual Heat mare, Aspen Gal.
