Harris-bred Om Filly Dashes to Santa Anita MSW Victory

Arcadia, CA (March 9, 024) – Headed for Om, bred by Harris Farms, rallied with great gusto to earn her maiden special weight victory in his turf debut, the final race on the card at Santa Anita.

The 3-year-old Om filly had been fourth in her racing debut on the main track. Today, she lined-up as part of a field of eleven, drawing post six in the five furlong dash. Midfield in the rush down the backstretch, she was still in eighth with a quarter-mile to run. Asked to go by jockey Flavien Prat, the bay miss came widest of all around the turn and into the stretch. Taking aim at the leaders, she closed strongly, albiet a bit greenly as to path straightness. She flew past the leaders in the final strides and was galloping away to win by a length and one-half.

Headed for Om races for Hronis Racing and she is trained by John Sadler. She was produced by the winning Harlan’s Holiday mare, Elusive Holiday.

Here’s she is a few hours after she was foaled.
