Harris Farms announces the retirement of our 6 year old mare from racing to pursue a new career as a broodmare. She is on the way to Kentucky to be bred to as yet to be determined stallion.

Closing Remarks won over a million dollars racing, including graded stakes wins in the John C. Mabee at Del Mar and the Yellow Ribbon at Santa Anita.

Plan is to return her to California once safely in foal, and to then breed her back to a stallion on the Harris Farms roster in 2025.

“Closing Remarks is one of the best mares we have ever raced”, said John Harris. “Carla Gaines did a sensational job with racing career. I look forward to many nice horses from her.”
