Allowance Winner and Stakes-Performer for Smiling Tiger

Albany, CA (January 14, 2021) – Sen Sen, the daughter of Smiling Tiger was stakes-placed last season at two, opened her sophomore campaign in style with a frontrunning victory in allowance company at Golden Gate Fields.

Going one mile over the all weather surface, Sen Sen was first out of the gate and rated kindly for jockey Assael Espinoza. He asked her to keep to her business at the top of the stretch and she responded, drawing away to win by three and one-half lengths as much the best.

Sen Sen races for Antone Metaxas and she is trained by Steven Specht. She has won or placed in four of her six career starts. Bred in California by Martin Bach, she is out of the stakes-placed Gotham City mare, She’s So Vain.

Today also saw the 2022 debut of Smiling Tiger’s stakes winning son, Tiger Dad, who finished second in the $60,000 Walter R. Cluer Memorial Stakes going seven and one-half furlongs over the firm turf course at Turf Paradise.

The 6-year-old gelding has won or placed in fifteen of his twenty-three starts and he takes his earnings to $370,445.
