Albany, CA (December 26, 2021) – Acclamation son Table for Ten continued his ascent through the ranks with his third victory in his last four starts, taking the featured allowance at Golden Gate Fields.
A field of nine lined-up to go one mile over the Tapeta in the 10th race. Table for Ten drew the rail, but early speed is not his game. He split the field for the opening five furlongs while saving ground. As the field bunched up when the real running began, the only route for him to take for clear running was the far outside. At the top of the stretch he was so wide, he left the video replay for several strides, but reappeared as he drew aim on the leaders. His closing kick carried him past those leaders in the waning strides to win by three-quarters of a length.
Table for Ten has won or placed in twelve of his sixteen career starts for owners Dino Forristall, Herb Robinson, Marilyn Taylor and his trainer, Bill McLean. Produced by the stakes winning Sky Mesa mare, Mesaatmimiscafe, he was bred by Old English Rancho, as was his stakes-winning second dam, Mimi’s Cafe. This family traces back to the Man ‘o War mare, Valkyr, for whom the CTBA’s Valkyr Trophy is named.
