ALBANY, CA (May 1, 2016)-Cheekaboo picked up her initial stakes win with a rousing stretch drive to capture the $100,000 Campanile Stakes at Golden Gate Fields.

Cheekaboo is by Unusual Heat and out of the Souvenir Copy mare Sandy Cheeks, she was bred by Madeline Auerbach, Richard Rosenberg & Barry Abrams. She was purchased for $55,000 from her breeders from the Barretts yearling sale and is now owned by Ciaglia Racing, Alesia or Burns and is trained by Peter Eurton.

Improving her lifetime record to two wins in six starts; along with a third place finish in the Xpressbet California Cup Oaks in January. She has now earned $137,680.

Settling for the place spot was another Unusual Heat filly How Unusual. She is out of the Bartok mare Veela and was bred by her owners Madeline Auerbach and Barry Abrams.
