Stanford’s Man O Rose Post Another Open Length Allowance Win at Santa Anita
Arcadia, CA (April 20, 2024) – Man O Rose made another sharp impression with his second consecutive victory in allowance company at Santa Anita Park. The son of Stanford was the easiest of winners in the 9th race, going six and one-half furlongs.
Scoring a 110 Equibase Speed Figure last out, today’s performance rated a 99, but he was not asked for his best. Flying out of the outside post, he engaged a challenger on the inside for the lead through an opening quarter in 22.29. They were still engaged after clicking off a half in 44.76, but only for a short time more. Man O Rose scampered off with mild encouragement from jockey Edwin Maldanado. He was geared down when the lead grew to five lengths and it stayed that way to the finish. He stopped the clock in 1:15.25 with the tank full for next time. He has won his last two races by a combined 12 1/2 lengths.
Man O Rose races for his breeders, B and B Zietz Stables, Inc and he is trained by Jeff Mullins. His dam is the Grade 2-placed Good Journey mare, Kathleen Rose. The 4-year-old gelding has won or placed in six of his eight starts and has earned $185,300.
