Smiling Tiger and Lucky Pulpit Sire Top Dollar Yearlings at NORCAL

Pleasanton, CA (August 17, 2016)-First crop yearling sire Smiling Tiger had yearlings fetch upwards of $40,000 at the NORCAL CTBA Yearling Sale. Hip number 69 a Smiling Tiger April 21st yearling and the first foal out of $93,000 earner Greatest Escape brought the $40,000 from Jeff Bonde, agent. The colt was consigned by Woodbridge Farm as agent. Additional Smiling Tiger yearlings hip number 116 was knocked down to Nina Kaiser, Agent for DeCourcy Graham for $20,000.

Smiling Tiger (Hold That Tiger–Shandra Smiles, by Cahill Road) a triple Grade 1 winner of $1.48 million stood for $4,000 in 2016.

California’s leading sire Lucky Pulpit had yearlings bring up to $30,000. Hip 214 a Harris Farms consigned yearling filly was sold to Peter Jackson of Orinda CA for $30K.

Lucky Pulpit stood for $7,500 in 2016 and is the sire of $12 million dollar earner California Chrome the worlds riches racehorse.
