Albany, CA (May 6, 2021) – Lady’s Sermon, the 2-year-old Rousing Sermon filly, made an eye-catching racing debut in the 2nd race at Golden Gate Fields, a maiden special weight going four and one-half furlongs over the all weather course.
Lady’s Sermon was among three fillies who wanted the early lead. Between horses, she backed out before the opening quarter and tracked the speed duel up front. She began to make contact again around the turn and she was ready to challenge at the top of the stretch. She caught the leader at the furlong pole and drew away convincingly to win by five and one-half lengths.
Trained by Steven Specht, Lady’s Sermon is a homebred for Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams, who also bred and raced her dam, the multiple stakes winning Ride the Rails mare, Lady Railrider. Specht was also her trainer.
