Rolling Daily Double for Smiling Tiger at Los Alamitos
Cypress, CA (December 16, 2022) – Smiling Tiger had a pair of winners grace the winner’s circle today at Los Alamitos. Smile for Glory, a Harris Farms homebred, came home best in a maiden special weight and Respectfully in allowance company in back-to-back fashion.
Smile for Glory lined-up against five other foes in his six furlong contest, carded as the 6th race. The 3-year-old chestnut gelding was quickly out of post three and it didn’t take long for him to grab the lead. He had company until the top of the stretch, but when asked, he left them behind and drew away to win by three and one-half lengths.
Trained by Smile for Glory is the third generation of Harris Farms-bred runners going back to the Zanthe mare, Image of Super, who was purchased in 1993 at the California Thoroughbred Sales Winter Sale. He is trained by Sean McCarthy, who also trained his stakes winning dam, the Benchmark mare, Bench Glory.

One race later, 4-year-old filly Respectfully earned her third victory of the season and sixth overall with her own frontrunning score going six furlongs. In similar style as Smile for Glory, she grabbed the lead early and opened up through the late to also win by three and one-half lengths.
Respectfully races for Mia Familia Racing Stable and she is trained by Librado Barocio. She has earned $208,838. Bred by Bud Petrosian, she is out of the Menifee mare, Yerevan Sky.
