Respectfully Romps in Laurel Park Allowance
Laurel, MD (June 23, 2023) – Respectfully remained undefeated at Laurel Park as the daughter of Smiling Tiger demolished the field in the 6th race, a seven furlong allowance with a purse of $61,210.
The 5-year-old mare earned her first win at Laurel Park over a fast main track. Today, she was met with a sloppy, sealed surface, which she may have enjoyed even more. Drawing the outside post in the field of eight, she moved a bit far to the right soon after the gates opened. Quickly corrected by jockey Jaime Rodriguez, there were few mistakes after that. She has some company for the first quarter-mile, but it lessened after that. Under a measured ride, she opened up around the turn and with little encouragement through the stretch, her lead expanded to more than nine lengths at the finish.
Respectfully races for the partnership of Morris E. Kernan, Jr. and Jagger Inc. and she is trained by Jamie Ness. She was bred in California by Bud Petrosian and she was produced by the Menifee mare, Yerevan Sky.
