Perfectionistic Rallies for Santa Anita Allowance Win
Arcadia, CA (May 31, 2021) – Perfectionistic was trailing early but first when it counted in the 3rd race at Santa Anita, a six furlong allowance over the firm turf course with a purse of $64,500.
Breaking from the outside post in the field of eight, the son of Vronsky did not have early foot of his competitors. He settled into a steady cadence down the backstretch and began to close the gap midway around the far turn. Circling the field, he came roaring down the outside and got up in the final stride to win by a nose.
Perfectionistic is now two-for-three lifetime and he has earned $71,300 for the partnership of The Ellwood Johnston Trust, Ashley Baze, Mary Hilvers, Peter Hilvers, and Ken Tevelde. Traind by Phil D’Amato, he was produced by the Poteen mare, Seasontoperfection.
