Needless to Say Announces Herself in Del Mar Romp
Del Mar, CA (August 23, 2020) – Needless to Say announced her arrival on the racing scene with an emphatic victory in her career debut in the 8th race at Del Mar, a five and one-half furlong maiden special weight over the fast main track.
Our Harris Farms homebred filly had a series of strong drills leading up to her unveiling and she left the gate as the 3/2 favorite. She never gave her backers a moment’s worry. Quickly to the lead, she opened up by a length and held that margin until the top of the stretch. Under a hand ride by jockey Tiago Pereira, she opened up on the field, coming home by an unpressured three and one- quarter lengths.
Needless to Say is a California-bred daughter of Not This Time our to the multiple stakes winning Roman Dancer mare, Camille C. She races for the partnership of Harris Farms and Per Antonsen and she is trained by Dean Pederson.
