ARCADIA, CA (May 20, 2015)-Harris Farms sires Lucky Pulpit, Unusual Heat and Tizbud are represented with six runners in the lucrative California Gold Rush Day stakes program at Santa  Anita this Saturday.

In the $125,000 Fran’s Valentine Stakes going a mile on the turf is Heat Du Jour. Heat Du Jour is by Unusual Heat, out of the Half a Year mare Style of the Year, was bred by Madeline Auerbach, is owned by Jerry Hollendorfer, Mark Schlaich and George Todaro and is trained by Hollendorfer. She has five wins in 26 starts, earnings of $263,910 and is coming off a fourth in an Apr. 30 optional claimer.

Pulmarack runs in the $200,000 Snow Chief Stakes at one mile and one eighth. Pulmarack is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Dehere mare Tamarack Bay, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has one win in eight starts, earnings of $144,330 and is coming off a second in the Apr. 26 Silky Sullivan.

Tribal Express tries the $200,000 Melair Stakes over a mile and one sixteenth. Tribal Express is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Tribal Rule mare Tribal Fire, was bred by owners Albert and Kathleen Mattivi and is trained by Steve Knapp. She has two wins in 13 starts, earnings of $72,140 and is coming off a fifth in the Apr. 4 Evening Jewel.

The field of the $150,000 Tiznow Stakes going one mile has a trio of Harris sired runners Short Heat Wave, Soi Phet and Rousing Sermon.

Short Heat Wave is by Unusual Heat, out of the Phone Trick mare Short Call, was bred by owner and trainer Joe Herrick. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of $76,778 and is coming off a fifth in an Apr. 4 optional claimer.
