Kings River Knight Romps Over Graded Quality Field at Santa Anita

Arcadia, CA (February 25, 2024) – California-bred Horse of the Year finalist Kings River Knight stepped into open company and against field that looked remarkably like a graded turf stakes today at Santa Anita. At the finish of the one-mile allowance, the son of Acclamation was more than two lengths clear of his rivals and he made visit number nine to the winner’s circle.

Kings River Knight was first out of the gate and he found a bit of company in the early going. He cleared the field and galloped them into submission. Never challenged after the opening quarter, he finished with his final quarter faster than his first and a final mile time of 1:34.40.

In addition to his number of victories, Kings River Knight has finished second five times, so if this writer does her math correctly, that’s first or second in all but one of his fifteen career starts. His earnings now sit at $589,830. Bred by Old English Rancho, he races for Integrity Thoroughbred Racing, LLC, The Ellwood Johnston Trust and Kenneth A. Tevelde. He was produced by the Poteen mare, Seasontoperfection.
