Harris Homebred Wins Los Alamitos Sunday Feature
Cypress, CA (July 2, 2023) – The feature race on the Sunday card at Los Alamitos was a one mile allowance over the fast track for a purse of $56,242. Our homebred 4-year-old filly Glorious Spring carried co-highweight and rallied from last-to-first to earn her second consecutive visit to the winner’s circle.
Glorious Spring began by chasing the pace three wide into the first turn. Taken to the rear of the field down the backstretch by jocke Tiago Pereira, they remained there until launching their bid around the final turn. Four wide into the stretch, she was full of run and caught the leader with a furlong to go. She drew away to win by a length and one-half.
Trained by Dan Blacker, Glorious Spring has finished first or second in six of her eight career starts and she has earned $153,080. By Grazen, she was produced by the winning Candy Ride (ARG) mare, Maziette.
