First Foal is a Colt for California Stallion Metaboss

The first foal by Grade 3 winner Metaboss was born Monday at Daehling Ranch in Elk Grove, Calif., when the stakes-placed Amira J produced a colt.

Bred by Mersad Metanovic LLC, the chestnut colt is the first for Amira J, a 5-year-old Sky Mesa mare who won one of three starts during her on-track career and ran second in the listed Ontario Debutante Stakes at Woodbine as a juvenile. Notable runners in the pedigree include Grade 3 winner Proctor, Chilean Group 2-placed stakes winner El Facha, and stakes winners Over Your Shoulder and Al Rahib.

“I really love this colt,” Metanovic said. “He has a little of everything, which is impossible to buy – great shoulder, started walking right away, good-minded, nice walk, and great personality. He minds his mama, is ready to run, very curious naturally, and has a great mind.”

Metaboss stands at Harris Farms in Coalinga, Calif., for an advertised fee of $1,500.

The 6-year-old son of Street Boss won three of 12 starts during his on-track career, highlighted by a victory in the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby and a second in the Grade 2 Del Mar Handicap. He is out of the stakes-placed Free House mare Spinning Yarns.
