Bettys Bambino Victorious in Comeback
ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 26, 2016) — Multiple stakes winner Bettys Bambino returned spectacularly from a 22-month layoff by winning Monday’s $100,000 Grade III San Simeon Stakes at Santa Anita, his fifth consecutive victory.
Bettys Bambino is by Unusual Heat, out of the High Brite mare Brite Betty, was bred by owners Alesia, Ciaglia and Mellen and is trained by Peter Eurton.
Joel Rosario: “The horse broke sharp. I was between horses, so I just stayed there and then when I got clear, I took to the outside. He gave me a good feeling after we left the gate. He just kept level and seemed very confident. You’ve got to give the trainer a lot of credit. This horse had been off a long time. He had him ready to go. I’m just out here for the day and enjoying the holiday.”
He has seven wins in 11 starts, earnings of $378,036 and was making his first start since Feb. 21, 2015, when he scored in the Sensational Star for his fourth consecutive win.
