Acclimate Dual Cal-bred Champion and HOTY Finalist

Arcadia, CA (February 5, 2020) – Acclimation was no stranger to championship accolades. He has passed that tradition onto his son, Acclimate, who was named Champion California-bred Older Male and Champion California-bred Turf Horse. He is also a finalist for California Horse of the Year.

A dual graded stakes winner during his 5-year-old season, Acclimate came home in the top spot in the Del Mar Handicap (G2) and the San Juan Capistrano Handicap (G3). He missed by a short length with a second-place finish in the John Henry Turf Championship, defeating Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1) runner-up United in the process.

Acclimate’s championship season earned $329.182 for the partnership of The Ellwood Johnston Trust and Timmy Time Racing. He is trained by Phil D’Amato. Bred by Old English Rancho, Sal and Patsy Berumen, he is out of the Boundary mare, Knows No Bounds. He has earned a career total of $365,872.
