Albany, CA (June 13, 2021) – The final race of the Winter/Spring meeting at Golden Gate Fields found the progeny of Harris Farms’ stallion Smiling Tiger standing in the winner’s circle. Tiger Queen proved much the best in the maiden special weight going six furlongs over the Tapeta.
Making her second start after being third in her debut, the dark bay filly showed good speed to claim the lead and the rail position. She cleared the field by a length after a 21.81 opening quarter. She clicked off the half in 45.12. She held a clear lead turning into the stretch and opened up by eight lengths with a furlong to go. She was not roused further and she came home easily best by six and one-half lengths in 1:10.60.
Tiger Queen is a homebred racing for Julian Coles and she is trained by William Delia. She is out of the winning Benchmark mare, Perfect Rhyme.
