Taming The Tigress Dominates Santa Anita Allowance
Arcadia, CA (February 6, 2022) – Smiling Tiger filly Taming the Tiger impressively grabbed her first victory of the season and fourth overall in the 7th race at Santa Anita, a $69,5000 six and one-half furlong allowance over the firm turf course.
Overcoming a bobble at the start, the chestnut 4-year-old never let the leaders get too far away. Asked to move forward around the turn by jockey Flavien Prat, she made quick work of the leaders and came into the stretch the clear leader. The best on this day by far, she galloped in and was geared down in the final sixteenth to win by nearly three easy lengths.
Taming the Tigress races for the partnership of CYBT, Michael Nentwig, Ray Pagano, and Daniel Weiner and she is trained by Ruben D. Alvarado. She has finished in the top three nine times in her twelve career starts and has earned $179,420. Bred by Highlander Racing Stable, LLC, she is out of the winning Yes It’s True mare, Joeandbetty’sbaby.
