Albany, CA (January 29, 2021) – Slam Dunk Sermon made it three wins in his last four starts and six for eleven lifetime with his victory in the 4th race at Golden Gate Fields, a six furlong allowance over the all weather.
The son of Rousing Sermon had visited the winners circle eleven day ago over the same course and a sixteenth of a mile shorter distance. His style is to come running late and today was no different. He sat off the pacesetters and came into the stretch in the two path. He wore down the leaders late and came away three-quarters of a length best.
The win takes his earnings to $106,592 for his owner/breeders Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams. Trained by Steven Specht, his dam is the winning Grand Slam mare, Royal Grand Slam.
