Rousing Sermon Filly Earns MSW Victory at Golden Gate

Albany, CA (August 27, 2021) – Striking Sermon, the 3-year-old Rousing Sermon filly, earned her maiden special weight diploma going five and one-half furlongs over the all weather at Golden Gate Fields.

Off a step slowly in the 6th race, Striking Sermon found herself four lengths back in the early going. Jockey Catalino Martinez did not panic and let her find her best stride. She closed most of the gap around the turn, despite being out in the four path and only had the leader to beat a furlong out. She took over and drew away to win by two lengths.

Striking Sermon is a third generation homebred racing for Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams, who also bred and raced her sire and grandsire. Trained by Steven Specht, she was produced by the winning Unusual Heat mare, Heat Striker.
