Mare In-foal to Halladay Tops CTBA Winter Mixed Sale

POMONA, Calif. (Jan. 31 2023) – Poster Girl, carrying a foal from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Halladay, sold for $70,000 to top Tuesday’s California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Winter Mixed Sale at Fairplex.

Consigned by Checkmate Thoroughbreds, Poster Girl broke her maiden first out at Newbruy at 2 and was graded-stakes place in the USA at 3. By the St. Jame’s Palace Stakes winner Excellent Art, she was purchased by Cedros Bloodstock.

The first foals for Halladay, the son of Perennial Leading Sire War Front had his first foal arrive on January 17. He was ranked in the Top-5 Freshman Stallions in America by the CPI Quality of Mares-bred.
