Shelbyville, IN (November 1, 2021) – Grand in Bay, the 2-year-old son of California’s Leading Second Crop Sire Majestic Harbor, overcame early trouble to win in maiden special weight company going one mile over the fast main track at Indiana Downs.
Grand in Bay was making his second career start and drew the rail post. Away well, he showed some pace, but was in tight going into the first turn and the jockey had to check sharply and had his feet in the dashboard all the way to the start of the backstretch. He leveled off and challenged for the lead passing the half-mile pole. He was headed around the turn, but full of run, he accelerated through the stretch to open up and win by more two lengths.
Grand in Bay was bred by David W. Osborne, Loren C. Hebel-Osborne and Carol Hebel and he races for Deerfield Farm Racing, Carol Hebel and Charles Bebber. Trained by Tim Glyshaw, he was produced by the multiple stakes-placed Alphabet Soup mare, Grand in Grey.
