Harris Homebred Secret Club Game in Santa Anita Score
Arcadia, CA (April 24, 2021) – Harris Farms’ homebred Secret Club made his first start against winners and cleared that condition with a half-length victory in the 4th race at Santa Anita going nine furlongs over the firm turf course.
Secret Club did not have a trouble free trip. Bumped hard enough from both sides to turn his backend sideways at the start, he shook off that early trouble to settle into a stalking trip in second. He launched his bid three furlongs from home. He overtook the leader, but another came calling to make a race of it through the stretch. Secret Club dug in and would not be denied. He fought gamely and earned the victory by a half-length.
The 4-year-old gelding has won or placed in four of his six career starts and he has earned $99,720. Trained by Sean McCarthy, he is by Clubhouse Ride and is out of the Mt. Livermore mare, Secret Mountain.
