Golden Gate Maiden Special Weight Win for Vronsky Son

Star Racer, the 4-year-old son of Vronsky, fought valiantly through the stretch to gain his maiden special weight condition in the 5th race at Golden Gate Fields going five and one-half furlongs over the all weather.

Coming wide into the stretch after sitting of the early pace, Star Racer and his opponent put those speed horses away and dueled until deep stretch. Star Racer gained the advantage late to win by a half-length in a gritty performance.

Produced by the Bold Badgett mare, Honey Bee Lucky, he was bred by the partnership of Old English Ranch and Bruce Headley. He races for the partnership of Blue Moon Racing Ltd and Steven Dietrich and he is trained by Angelo Tekos, Jr.
