Stanford Son Blazes a 110 Equibase Speed Figure at Santa Anita

Arcadia, CA (March 10, 2024) – Stanford son Man O Rose turned in a dazzling performance, romping to victory in the 6th race at Santa Anita, a six and one-half furlong allowance lover the fast main track.

The 4-year-old gelding was right there from the beginning. Pressuring the leader down the backstretch, he pushed him through an opening quarter in 21.78. Man O Rose drew even passing the half in 43.96. He cleared his opponent at the top of the stretch, passed six furlongs in 1:08.46 and he hit the wire seven and one-half lengths best. His final time was 1:14.76. His Equibase Speed Figure of 110 would rate this performance #4 for a dirt sprint stakes this season had it been an added money event.

A homebred racing for B and B Zietz Stables, Inc., he was produced by the graded stakes-place Good Journey mare, Kathleen Rose. He has won or placed in five of his seven starts and he has earned $142,400.

Harris Farms Sale Graduate Wins Governor’s Cup at Cal-Expo

SACRAMENTO, CA (July 22, 2023) – Harris Farms and John Nicoletti-bred Chancery Way earned the second stakes victory of her career with a front-running display in $75,000 Governor’s Cup going six furlongs at Cal-Expo.

Despite a bobble at the start, the 4-year-old filly recovered quickly and dashed to the front. She opened a clear lead and maintained it to the wire to win by two and one-quarter lengths.

Racing for Andy Smolich and Rob Smolich, the Northern California YearlingSale Graduate is trained by Jamey Thomas. She has won or placed in eight of her nine starts and she has earned $195,770.

Purchased from the Harris Farms consignment by Ray Thomas, she is by Mr. Big, out of the winning War Chant mare, This Means War. The mare has a yearling colt by Om and she foaled a Tamarando colt this season.
