California-bred Champion Unzip Me In Foal to Kitten’s Joy
Kitten’s Joy is the sire of 14 stakes winners and 30 stakes performers in 2012 with earnings of $6,533,591 and stands at Ramsey Farm in Nicholasville, KY. Unzip Me is now at Highcroft Farm in Lexington, KY.
We are very excited to breed Unzip Me to a world class sire. Harris Farms resident trainer Per Antonsen said “I think they chose the right stallion they are both turf horses, and Unzip Me sure liked the Turf”
John Harris added, “Unzip Me was a very special mare for us. Don Valpredo and I bred both her dam and her granddam, our sensational multiple stakes winner, Soviet Problem, who was beaten a short head by Cherokee Run in the 1994 Breeders’ Cup. Actually, we bred the first 4 dams of Unzip Me from a Boldnesian mare, In Prime Time, we purchased together back in the early 1980’s to start our partnership. It’s been a fun ride and it’s not over yet.
“After much consideration of many good stallion options, we decided on Kitten’s Joy for Unzip Me this year, and he was a top turf horse with speed, and has gotten off to a sensational start over the last few years with major runners on every surface at multiple distances. Plus Kitten’s Joy and Unzip Me look much alike.”
