Arcadia, CA (March 13, 2021) – For the second day running, a son of Acclamation has found the winner’s circle after an allowance race at Santa Anita. Today, that son was Bench Judge, who closed out the card with a very tenacious performance.
A field of ten gathered for the six furlong dash. Bench Judge broke from post five and was in a battle for the lead after the crossover from the main track. He was joined on the lead and headed halfway around the turn and at the top of the stretch. Jockey Juan Hernandez asked for more and there was plenty left in the tank. He took over again with a furlong to run and drew away to win by a length and one-quarter at the finish.
Bench Judge has three wins, two second and one third in nine career starts and he has earned $114,260. Bred in California by Hronis Racing LLC, he is out of the stakes-placed Benchmark mare, Caitie’s Secret. He races for the ownership group of Altamira Racing, Slam Dunk Racing, and Michael Nentwig. He is trained by Peter Miller.
