High Standards Will Try Triple Bend
We are now planning to run High Standards (High Brite,
out of the Torsion mare Tomato Paste) in the Grade One $300,000 Triple Bend
Handicap on Saturday at Hollywood Park. He won a Grade 3 as a 3 year old, and
did run 3rd in the Grade 3 Los Angeles Handicap this year and then won the King
Glorious Stakes in his last start on June 8th. Marty Jones, who also trained the
Triple Bend victor last year, the Cal Bred Bilo owned by our late friend Eddie
Nahem, saddles him and Joel Rosario rides.
High Standards is the comeback kid as he was off for a year with some serious
stifle issues that he was successfully treated for with Stem Cell therapy via
UCD and he has come back amazingly well, winning first time back in December.
7/8th may be a little further than he really wants to run, but if he gets loose
on the lead, he may be tough.
